Let’s go wayfaring.

Come wander under this blossoming cherry tree in Germany, breathe in the sweetness of the morning. Contemplate the creation of the earth and its creatures with me. To feel God touching and transforming the face of the world  with such infinite variation always fills me with wonder.

Greet this toucan in Brazil,…it is as if God grew tired of making small beaks.

Witness a gathering rainstorm in Tibet with me, as it turns the horizon into mystical shades of blue.

Enjoy these six-month old black-backed jackal pups playing in Kenya

Feel awe with me as we visit the little known places in the harsh cold of the wilderness and witness the moving strength of a glacier in New Zealand

A couple of sea lions in the Galapagos Islands, underwater seekers, touching as they swim together, their odd shapes graceful in the flow.

Mother love in Africa, and proof that God has a sense of humor when he creates.

A European lynx awakening and stretching, one who sleeps without a pillow.

I love little violets growing wild in the grass, and here are flowers called ‘floating violas’ that float in the water.  Amazing! I have never heard or seen of them before.

I wander and gaze ….to take in a few more expressions each day, to praise and appreciate where God has been…..and left traces of divine playfulness for us to enjoy.

I try to imagine what would possess God to make a giraffe or a worm or a dragonfly or our funny faces in the mirror. Then I laugh….and I think that may be one of the ways I find my laughing heart……..!

Had to share these delightful responses from a friend, who is a playful poet and a true wayfarer.  He answered my invitation, came along with me and let me see through his eyes as well as my own!!

In time the lovely white blossoms

Miraculously transform themselves into zillions

Of little round  taste bombs that were designed to explode in a thousand sensations

As they dance and leap and laugh across our tongues

Into the wonder of our lives

Perhaps the blush upon our cheeks

Is the soul of the cherry

Rising on crimson wings to kiss

The sun

Greet this toucan in Brazil,…it is as if God grew tired of making small beaks.

Yes, I will make this one colorful and grand

Bright yellow orange like the sun

With a dash of night

On the end

The Cyrano of birds

A toucan!

Witness a gathering rainstorm in Tibet with me, as it turns the horizon into mystical shades of blue.

Oceans like skies and skies ever blue

Turquoise and azure

Forever and you

The palette of colors the dreams of our lives

The mystical shades

Where

Eternity hides

Laughing and playing

So fresh from above

The joy of our being

The faces of love

Feel awe with me as we visit the little known places in the harsh cold of the wilderness and witness the moving strength of a glacier in New Zealand

Jagged mountains arise through a sea of clouds and wonder

Silence reigns above the sounds of thunder

Snow swept artistry

Way on high

Where the tip of earth is held in sky

A couple of sea lions in the Galapagos Islands, underwater seekers, touching as they swim together, their odd shapes graceful in the flow.

We flow with grace amongst the singing tides

Our bodies are the harmonies

Thrilling as they glide

And sing and soar down here below

Weaving tapestries of song

Where rarely people go

Mother love in Africa, and proof that God has a sense of humor when he creates.

Goodness, look what happens when Unicorns take STEROIDS!!!

A European lynx awakening and stretching, one who sleeps without a pillow.

Ooooh, aaaah, yesss, who says you can’t find heaven in a stretch!

Purpled violets sail and float

Gifts of angels

Formed into a boat

Loveliest petals

Sweet feast for eyes

Perhaps they’re formed

Each time an angel sighs

George, in all of the wonder and beauty and amazement of life!
